Big Boet is made by the same manufacturer as Big Boet!

Big Boet - Gr 2/3
consists of 26 programmes and divided into two languages namely English and Afrikaans with 13 programmes each. Each language section focuses on the development of basic learning skills. In all areas the programmes are making use of the 'adaptive learning system' where the learner is promoted to a higher level by the computer when achieved 80% or more. The levels of difficulty are controlled by time limits. The levels can also be adjusted by hand.

Report and analysis

The data base of this programme can store1000 names. The results obtained during the exercises are listed against each learner's name on a daily basis. An analysis may be viewed to find the learner's strong and weak learning areas.

Die Big Boet Gr 2-3 bestaan uit 26 programme, 13 in Afrikaans en 13 in Engels
Elke taalafdeling fokus op die ontwikkeling van basiese leervaardighede.
In alle areas van die program word gebruik gemaak van die ‘aanpasbare
leerstelsel’ m.a.w. die leerder word na ‘n hoër vlak bevorder wanneer
80% en meer behaal word. Die moeilikheidsgraad per vlak word deur tyd beheer.
Die vlakke kan ook per hand aangeskuif word.

Program-inhoud

Lees

  • bevat 30 rympies en vrae met elke oefening
  • 600 enkelvoudige en meervoudige woorde en vrae.
  • Lees met begrip; 150 aannames in wiskunde, wetenskap en algemene kennis
    word gemaak met ‘n ‘reg of verkeerd’ antwoord.
    Wiskunde
  • Vermenigvuldiging met ‘n leerfase waar die leerder die 2-5X tafels
    oefen en hom/haarself daarna toets by die toetsfase.
  • Deling met ‘n leerfase wat die kind die beginsels van deling leer en die leerder
    daarna toets.
  • Optelling en aftrekking word in ‘n veerpylbordspel aangebied wat die waarde van
    hoofrekene beklemtoon.
  • 150 woordsomme met ‘n variasie van vrae insluitende breuke word aangebied.

Denke

  • laterale denke met 50 doolhowe wat voltooi moet word deur al die groen
    smaragte te kollekteer en dan die skatkis te vind. Dié programdeel vereis
    planning en rigting.
  • Assosiasie; 300 prente om te assosieer met woorde.

Spelling

  • 950 spelwoorde, beginnende by 4-letterwoorde in vlak 1 en eindig met
    10-letterwoorde in vlak 4. Elke spelwoord word deur ‘n woordverklarende
    leidraad vergesel.

Geheue

  • met klanke is ‘n prettige speletjie, honderde klankvolgordes word deur
    musiek-instrumente gespeel en die leerder moet die volgorde herhaal.
  • met prente toets die leerder se geheue in 5 rondtes.

Verslag en analise
Die databasis van die program stoor tot ‘n 1000 name en uitslae. Die uitslae wat die leerder na ‘n oefening verdien het, word teenoor sy/haar naam gestoor.
Die analise dui die leerder se sterk en swak leerareas aan.
Die inhoud van die sagteware is daarop gemik om die leerder se vaardighede te stimuleer en te ontwikkel asook die bewusmaking van spoed (tyd), konsentrasie en selfstandigheid wat hom/haar voorberei vir die sekondêre opvoedingsfase. Die Super Kid en Big Boet ! –reeks is bekostigbaar en is uiters geskik vir tuisonderrig wat die leerder in ‘n ontspanne toestand laat werk sonder toesig.

  • Read with comprehension; 150 statements taken from maths, science and general knowledge learning areas with a 'right or wrong' answer.

Mathematics

  • Multiplication with learning phase where the learner can learn
    times tables from X2 to X5 and a test phase to test himself.
  • Division with learning phase to teach the learner the principles of
    division and a test phase to test himself against to what he has
    learned.
  • Addition in a dart game format to teach the learner the value of
    arithmetic.
  • Subtraction in a dart game format to teach the learner the value of
    arithmetic.
  • Problem sums; 150 word sums with various questions including fractions.

Thinking

  • Lateral thinking; 50 mazes to complete by catching all the emeralds and then the treasure chest, this programme exercises the learner's planning skills and direction.
  • Association; 300 pictures to associate with words.

Spelling

  • 950 spelling words, starting with 4 letter-words in level 1 and ending with 10 letter-words in level 4 with word-explanation
    (a clue to the word to be spelt).

Memory

  • With sounds is a fun game with hundreds of sound sequences played by musical instruments and then repeated on the same sequence by the learner.
  • With pictures test the learner's memory in 5 rounds.
